Rose Vietnam was established in 2006 and is officially licensed by the Government of Vietnam.
Rose Vietnam is a branch of Vancouver based Rose Charities, a registered Canadian non-profit with affiliates in 13 countries. Rose is founded on the principal of volunteerism, ie no salaries, no offices, no expenses: as a result over 98% of funds raised are spent on our projects.
Current projects in Hue include building 10 houses for impoverished families (8 completed to date), skills training for blind adults, a school for street children, education scholarships, income generation programs and community development.
In 2011 Rose VN was approached by the village chief of Thanh Tien village for assistance in reviving the 400 year indigenous craft of hand-made flowers. We are collaborating with the village elders on a three year community development plan which will include training, construction and marketing. The goal is to attract tourism and provide employment opportunities, especially for young people who have been leaving in large numbers in search of work.
Rose VN has facilitated corporate sponsorship of Be Tho orphanage in HCMC. We are coordinating with the donor to ensure on-going medical, education and nutritional support for the 150 children.
